Friday afternoon/massage:
Grand opening of Essential Indulgences (massage practice), Lesley A. Kavanaugh, LMT, 295 Eighth St., Troy. 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free sample massages, vegan body care products to sample and purchase at special discount, vegetarian hors d'oeuvres and desserts provided by Flavour Cafe of Troy's Little Italy.
Well, it all seems nice but there IS a suggested donation price of $10.

Friday/fun:
Schenectady County SummerFest, 4:30-9:30 p.m., downtown Schenectady on State Street and the Jay Street Pedestrian Mall. Music, puppets, steel drums, sand sculpture, fireworks finale!

Friday night/arts:
Grand opening of The Red Gallery, 29 Second St., Troy. 5 p.m. -?

Saturday night/music (cans):
Bang-on-a-Can All-Stars at Mass MOCA, Hunter Center, North Adams, Mass. $22.

Saturday night/more music (classical):

Saturday night/dance:

Sunday night/rock:
